Elise and Shawn are high school sweethearts! They have been together for 16 amazing years and then Shawn decided to pop the question while on vacation!

These two cuties came to Big White Ski Resort for their engagement photos. The winter wonderland is completely different from they're upcoming destination wedding in Mexico, where they will be trading the snow covered landscape of Canada for the sandy beach shores of Mexico.

We started our session by walking through the nordic trail at Big White. The nordic trial covers 25 km (15.5 miles) of trail. We only explored 1 km of the trail together. We weren't the only ones on the trial... we got photobombed by a dog sled team! But I must say, it makes for some exciting images.

We did a tiny loop around the nordic trail. At some point we saw the Ice Tower in the backdrop. Elise wanted to see if we could take photographs near the ice tower so we went to the office and asked for their permission to take few photographs. They were happy to say yes, and I'm so glad they did! The pictures turned out beautifully!

We then popped some champagne to celebrate their future together, ending our session at the ice tower.

Needless to say, it was a joy photographing these two love birds at Big White Ski Resort!
